A large part of Brazil’s governing coalition withdrew its support for President Dilma Rousseff, which could increase the likelihood of her being impeached.
The Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) decided that its six remaining ministers in Rousseff’s Cabinet (and all other party members with the government appointments) must resign or face ethics proceedings.
Rousseff is currently fighting against allegations that she manipulated Brazil’s accounts and had links to the corruption scandal surrounding the oil company Petrobras.
