If you’re an American millennial, you cannot deny your overwhelming excitement over Disney’s new Toy Story Land. Woody? Buzz? That adorable little three-eyed alien that you never knew the name of? Now you can experience your favorite childhood characters in 4D. Here’s the lowdown on what to expect when visiting Disney’s new toy-themed exhibit.
1. You’re toy-sized
In Disney’s Toy Story Land, you can consider yourself an honorary toy. You’ve been shrunk to toy size, and while Andy’s away, Toy Story Land is all yours to play with. In fact, according to handwritten sketches and notes found around the park, Andy created this amusement park completely out of miniature objects he found! Keep an eye out for oversized Green Army Men, massive blocks, giant popsicle sticks, and huge Christmas tree bulbs.
2. There’s an adorable rollercoaster
Okay, so the words “adorable” and “rollercoaster” don’t usually go together. But seriously, there’s no other way of putting it; the Slinky Dog Dash is Disney’s cutest rollercoaster yet. This newly launched coaster weaves through Toy Story Land on a mission. It definitely isn’t Disney’s most thrilling coaster yet, but it’s an enjoyable ride that gives just the right amount of stomach butterflies during its dips and turns. If you have older kids, this coaster would be perfect for bridging the gap between “baby rides” and over-the-top coasters.
3. They didn’t forget the aliens
Everyone’s favorite three-eyed green creatures from “Pizza Planet,” an arcade in the film, are back at the Alien Swirling Saucers ride. Riders have likened it to the classic park ride, “The Whip.” If you’ve always wanted to play the arcade games inside Pizza Planet, you can enjoy virtual carnival games, too, over at Toy Story Mania.
4. There’s Toy Story food, and it’s classic
Disney would never create a theme-park land without themed food, of course, so Toy Story Land delivers. Visitors can check out Woody’s Lunch Box, with a classic menu featuring school-classics, such as grilled cheese, tomato soup, and—yes—Pop-Tarts.
Toy Story Land may not be as developed as other theme park lands, like the famous Harry Potter World. However, if you’re a Toy Story fan, this land is worth a visit in every way. “To infinity, and beyond!”
